Glazed ceramic box “Tea foam”, with Qianlong seal

A ceramic box with a circular shape and a low body, consisting of a lid and base. The contour is gently curved, with a slightly flat profile at the top of the lid and base, giving it a compact appearance. The surface is covered with a dense glaze of yellowish-ochre, finely mottled with dark dots and shades of green, characteristic of the glaze known as ‘tea-foam’ or ‘茶釉’, which evokes the effect of oxidized infusion on porcelain. The piece is finished with a purple glaze outlining the rim of both halves, as well as a central ring at the top of the lid. On the base is a six-character relief seal ‘大清乾隆年制’.
