Description.
A coarse porcelain bowl with a circular base, slightly open rim and irregular walls, covered with an opalescent glaze in shades of blue and violet. The exterior is decorated with calligraphic reliefs framed by medallions. The glaze is thick and glossy, with a lilac to sky-blue marbled finish, producing a visual effect of movement and depth, typical of the Jun style. This type of glaze was highly valued for its unpredictable appearance and technical complexity, and was reinterpreted after classical models by Qing dynasty potters. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
