Description.
Rectangular ceramic pillow with a slightly concave upper surface. The piece, characteristic of Cizhou kiln productions, is painted with dark iron pigment on a white slip. The upper panel depicts a scene with two figures on a horse-drawn carriage. The sides are decorated with stylised plant motifs. Song dynasty (960–1279) or later.
