Glazed porcelain plate ‘Shou’, with Qianlong seal

Circular plate with low, gently curved sides resting on a short foot. The decoration is executed in underglaze cobalt blue, featuring a circular medallion in the centre of the front side dominated by the character ‘Shou’ surrounded by eight other characters and a profuse border of scrollwork. The reverse side shows a band of scrollwork and flowers. The base bears a six-character mark ‘大清乾隆年制’.
