French Empire-style gilt bronze mantel clock, commonly known as "Orpheus Enchanting the Animals." These pieces date primarily from the first quarter of the 19th century, approximately between 1805 and 1820. It is crafted from chased and gilt bronze, typical of the luxurious French Empire style. Good condition.
