Description.
Sculpture carved in translucent white jade depicting two children interacting in a playful attitude. One of the larger children is shown leaning back with a smiling expression, resting his head on his flexed arm, while the other sits astride his torso in a scene charged with auspicious symbolism. The carving exhibits smooth, rounded forms, with incised details in the folds of the garments and simplified faces with serene expressions. The jade has natural ochre-toned inclusions in various areas and a uniformly bright polish. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
