Description.
Jade in a soft celadon tone with areas of patina or ‘Cascara’ in a reddish ochre colour. The piece has an organic triangular rock shape with rounded edges. The surface is masterfully decorated with a scene of horses resting in a setting of rocks and pine trees, alongside an inscription of engraved classical poems accompanied by an artist's seal. A silky patina surrounds the image. It comes with a base and presentation box, both lined with silk featuring traditional motifs. Qing dynasty (1644–1911).
