Hetian jade and wood brush rest, Qing dynasty

White jade with honey-orange streaks. The piece consists of a rectangular jade plaque set within a wooden frame; the surface of the jade is decorated in bas-relief with two facing dragons, whose sinuous bodies intertwine amongst swirling clouds. The wooden base is carved with an architectural profile featuring four scroll-shaped feet. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912) or later.
