Description.
Carved from celadon-coloured Hetian jade, with a globular body and square mouth, supported by four elongated cylindrical legs. It has two rectangular handles on the upper rim and is crowned by a slightly domed carved wooden lid decorated in relief. The surface of the body is entirely covered with calligraphic text engraved in vertical columns. The base bears a square seal with the characters ‘乾隆年制’.
