Description.
The sculpture depicts an elderly scholar standing, dressed in a long robe and traditional hat. In his hands he holds a staff, a symbol of wisdom and longevity. The piece is carved from white Hetian jade with brown veins. Qing dynasty (1644–1912) or later.
