Hetian jade figurine of a ‘Dignitary’, Qing Dynasty

Hetian jade, in a pale celadon hue with ochre-coloured iridescence. It depicts a high-ranking dignitary, standing upright in a reverential pose, with a serene expression, his hands concealed beneath the wide sleeves of his robe and his hair gathered in a high bun. It is notable for the intricate detail of the carving. It sits on a carved wooden base decorated with motifs of pine trees and lingzhi mushrooms. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912).  or later.
