Description.
Ochre-coloured jade with brown and gold veins. It depicts the deity on a circular pedestal, with a serene expression, legs crossed in the lotus position and hands in the ‘Varada Mudra’ gesture. He is dressed in a flowing tunic and his hair is tied back in a high bun, behind which is a petal-shaped halo. Ming dynasty (1368–1644) or later.
