Description.
A Hetian jade stone of organic and irregular shape, with a smoothly polished surface that retains its natural pebble shape. Its general tone is yellowish ivory, with areas of intense reddish or crimson colouring that are distributed asymmetrically in different parts of the piece, generating an attractive chromatic contrast. This colouring is characteristic of what is known as chicken-skin jade, which is highly prized. The piece rests on a wooden base carved from dark rosewood, finely turned and adapted to the shape of the stone, which allows it to be displayed vertically. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
Size of jade: 3.7 x 7 x 7 cm
Jade weight: 305 g
