Description.
Brush pot (bitong) carved from intense spinach green jade from Hetian. It has a cylindrical shape, with a solid body and smooth walls on the inside. It is decorated with a complex continuous landscape scene, carved in high relief, which wraps around the surface. It depicts a mountainous landscape populated by scholars, servants and children walking among pine trees, plum blossoms, pavilions and bridges. The base is carved with small support legs. Qing dynasty (1644–1912).
