Description.
White Hetian jade. It presents the morphology of a ritual conch shell (Sankha) with great naturalism, with spirals in the upper part. On the body there is an extensive calligraphic inscription: ‘宝相长新殿乾隆二十五年恭供’. It has a reddish patina, evidence of its age. During the Qing dynasty, the conch shell was one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols of Buddhism.
