Description.
Natural jade of an exceptional white hue. It has a stepped rectangular shape, the body of which is decorated in bas-relief with archaic motifs of dragons and taotie masks. The narrow neck is flanked by zoomorphic handles from which movable rings hang. The edges of the vase feature serrated ridges, a decoration that is repeated on the pyramidal lid. The piece rests on a carved wooden base decorated with scrollwork motifs. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912).
