Hetian white jade ‘Phoenix’ incense burner, with Qianlong seal

White Hetian jade with a smooth, creamy texture. It has a globular body resting on a flared foot. The body, decorated in bas-relief with beautiful flowering branches, is flanked by two handles in the shape of a phoenix with outstretched wings, a sharp beak and delicately detailed feathers. It features a carved wooden lid, crowned by a jade knob depicting a phoenix. The base bears a four-character mark: ‘乾隆年制’. or later.
