Hetian white jade plaque ‘Weaver with poem’, Qing dynasty

Carved white Hetian jade plaque, rectangular and flat, with upper and lower edges carved in a wave pattern. The decoration is divided between the two sides: the front shows a scene with a lady weaving on a loom, carved in low relief. The reverse side features a poem in fine calligraphy, attributed to Zigang ‘子冈’. With custom-made lined box. Qing dynasty (1644–1912).
