Description.
Carved white Hetian jade vase with lid, flattened shape, bulging belly and rectangular base. The jade is pure white and uniform in colour. The decoration features carved vegetation on the lid with a hanging chain attached to one of the handles on the neck. The body is adorned with two side handles made of thick branches with leaves and small gourds holding hanging rings. The central surface of the vase is decorated on one side with an engraved poem and incised seals, complemented by delicate floral motifs on the base and a floral relief on the other. The base shows a seal engraved in low relief: “乾隆年制”. With a custom-made carved wooden base. Qing dynasty (1644-1912).
