Each panel is centred with a gilded Chinese character in reserve of auspicious significance. The base of the body is surmounted by a border of stylised petals in blue and yellow on a white background. The slightly bevelled inner rim has a delicate border of flowers, while the rest of the interior is entirely enamelled in turquoise. On the base is a six-character stamp in iron-red “大清道光年製”.
The piece is presented on a carved wooden stand with scroll decorations adapted to the shape of the jardinière. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
