Description.

Ink and pigments on paper, with canvas frame. It represents a mountainous landscape with trees, a temple, a river with a bridge and a house. In this landscape two characters come to visit another.

In the upper left corner there is a text done in ink. The text indicates the title "访友图" (visiting friends), the time "乾隆甲午十月上浣" (October 10, 1774 Qianlong era) and the author "画于只勤书屋黄溱" (Painted by Huang Qin). It is followed by a seal corresponding to Huang Qin, a prominent landscape painter of the Qing dynasty. At the bottom of the painting are two seals. One located on the left margin "曾藏潘健..处" and one on the right "王氏季迁珍藏之印".

In the Qing dynasty literary paintings were popular and landscape paintings made freehand with water and ink flourished.
