Description.
An Isfahan carpet of Persian origin, woven from fine wool on a cotton or silk backing. It features a navy blue field with a large, lobed central medallion and classically inspired floral decoration in shades of red, ivory and beige, accompanied by symmetrically arranged plant motifs.
The corners, in shades of ivory and ochre, echo the design of the central field. The whole is framed by several borders, notably a main border on a carmine red background decorated with palmettes, flowers and intertwined stems. It retains short, light-coloured fringes at both ends.
Size: 416 x 300 cm
