Press 'Program an autobid'in order to confirm
"Fishermen," an original lithograph on paper by the renowned artist Israel Paldi (1892–1979). The composition, with its distinctly expressionist and avant-garde character typical of the late 1920s, depicts a choral scene of fishermen at work on a choppy sea. The dynamic layering of multiple boats and foreshortened human figures carrying cargo, rowing, or gesticulating is striking, all articulated through a vibrant color palette of contrasting blues, ochres, and greens. In the background, a coastal landscape with oriental arcades and ships on the horizon reflects the characteristic style and iconography of the modernist school of Eretz Israel at the time. Numbered "350" in the lower right corner and "139/999" in the lower left corner.
