Oil on canvas. This biblical-themed painting with Orientalist inspiration depicts the finding of Moses in the Nile River. A woman wading through the water amidst reeds holds and intently contemplates a floating wicker basket containing the infant. To the right, on the riverbank, a group of Egyptian royal women observe the scene from a rug spread on the ground. The central figure of the group, presumably the Pharaoh's daughter, wears a light blue tunic and a golden headdress, holding a large fan of white feathers. She is attended by several servants in traditional dress, some adorned with jewels. In the background, a natural landscape of lush vegetation and palm trees is silhouetted against a luminous sky of sunset or sunrise. The painting technique is notable for its 19th-century Academic style, employing detailed brushstrokes to depict the textures of the garments, the fabrics scattered on the riverbank, and the interplay of light and shadow that envelops the sacred setting. Signed "F. Brida Valencia" in the lower left corner.
