Press 'Program an autobid'in order to confirm
Finely carved jade figurine in shades of beige and brown with a natural patina, depicting a mythical creature with a compact body and a reclining posture. The head displays stylized features, with prominent almond-shaped eyes and curved ears pressed to the sides. The open mouth reveals a long, serpentine tongue, which rises and undulates in decorative scrolls. Stylized wings or ornamental appendages arranged on the sides, carved with lines, stand out. The tail, also ending in an elegant curl, balances the composition. The treatment of the legs is simplified, with an emphasis on the claws. This type of figurine is associated with protective beasts, guards against negative energies, and bringers of good fortune. Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) or later.
