Description.
Pale celadon-coloured jade with subtle areas of brown discolouration. It depicts a bird at rest, with its wings tucked in, a slender neck and its head turned, resting its beak on its back. It has schematic features, with circular eyes and feathers in relief. On the reverse, there are perforations for suspension. Hongshan culture (approx. 4000–3000 BC) or later.
