Description.
Carved from natural nephrite jade in a pale green tone with areas of slight translucency and an ochre-coloured patina. The piece depicts a seated female figure with a stylised anatomy and a prominent, curved headdress. It has schematic facial features, pronounced breasts and one arm resting on her legs. Hongshan culture (approx. 4000–3000 BC) or later.
