Description.
Carved jade of a soft translucent whitish-white tone. It shows a small composition, consisting of an old man in the centre, leaning on a steep rock, next to which stands a bird with folded wings, an upturned head and an elongated beak holding a lingzhi branch. On the opposite side is a beast with a robust body and thick legs, which turns its head, looking at the central figure. The fine details that complete the composition are executed in relief and incised. Age wear is visible. Qing Dynasty (164-1912) or later.
