Description.
White jade with a subtle ochre patina. The piece is cylindrical, designed to be inserted into a headdress. It stands out for its profuse bas-relief decoration: the central body is covered with deities surrounded by mythological animals intertwined in a scroll design. The upper edge features a crest with openwork elements of beasts. Western Han Dynasty (206 BC – 9 AD) or later.
