Description.
Jade plaque carved in the open silhouette of a bird, probably an eagle. The figure is shown flat, with a long tail and open wings, drawn using simple incised lines. The jade is pale celadon green in colour, with areas of earthy brown alteration. Hongshan culture (c. 4700–2900 BC).
