Description.
Carved jade in a honey-coloured hue, with an extensive patina of oxidation. It depicts the iconic pig-dragon (Zhulong) figure, in a ‘C’ shape, with a prominent head featuring large eyes, a flattened snout with folds, and erect ears. It has a hole for hanging. Hongshan Culture (c. 4700–2900 BC) or later.
