Description.
A rectangular plate of slightly translucent white jade with amber and reddish oxidation veins that are skilfully used to highlight the decorative relief. The obverse side shows a finely carved country scene in bas-relief, depicting two horses under a pair of stylised pine trees. The horses, one in profile and the other facing the front. The setting includes undulations that suggest water or slopes. The pines, with their dense crown and curved branches, complete the composition. The reverse of the plaque is plain, with no additional inscription or decoration. The shape of the upper part is slightly curved. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
