Description.
Made of pale green nephrite, with areas of brown and amber tones. The piece is carved with the figure of a ‘Foo Lion’ sitting on a square base. The creature has a powerful expression, with a curly mane, fierce expression and open jaws. The base bears the incised inscription ‘平东大将军印’. With patina due to age. Ming dynasty (1368–1644).
