Description.
Carved jade seal in shades of brown and honey, with a square base. It features a crouching lion on a relief of clouds and scrolls. The lion is carved with a distinctive mane and fierce but stylised features, contrasting with the background of clouds carved in low relief. The matrix bears the inscription ‘敬天尊祖’ and traces of red sealing wax. Qing dynasty (1644–1912).
