Description.
A white jade seal with reddish veins on the base, carved with the figure of a reclining beast at the top, with a compact body and smoothly defined features. The creature has short ears, large eyes and a prominent muzzle, with a mane and limbs sculpted in a simplified form. On the base is the inscription ‘宋山饮河所以养性’ in seal-style characters. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
