Description.
An openwork ornamental plaque, finely carved in jadeite in shades of emerald green and translucent white. The piece has a vertical oval-shaped design, surrounded by a frame in the form of bamboo stalks. In the centre of the composition is a bird perched among the branches, carved with great detail on the feathers and head. This motif is a classic of traditional iconography, representing the harmony between nature and virtue. The upper part shows a grouping of leaves and flowers. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
