Description.
A circular ornamental plaque carved from jadeite in beautiful emerald-green tones with natural brown hues. The piece is intricately fretworked, depicting a dragon surrounded by scrolls of clouds, a symbol of celestial power, prosperity and protection. The border is composed of a series of circular elements simulating pearls. The dragon, with a serpentine body, pronounced scales and a powerful expression, is arranged in a dynamic pose. The quality of the carving makes it possible to appreciate fine details such as the dragon's mane, claws and whiskers. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
