Description.
Carved jadeite panel, rectangular and flat in shape, framed in a carved wooden support (possibly zitan) with a geometric pattern design. The colour of the jadeite is exceptionally varied, with a milky white base that transitions to intense shades of sea green and pale celadon, using the superior white colour and a lavender inclusion to simulate the sky and sun. The decoration is carved in low and medium relief, depicting a deep mountainous landscape with rugged peaks, leafy trees, and two scholars at the bottom. Qing dynasty (1644–1912).
