Description.
Carved from ‘chicken bone’ jade (鸡骨白), characterized by an opaque ochrea and cream colour and a dense texture. The piece is shaped like an elongated quadrangular prism with a circular perforation in the centre. The surface is divided into three overlapping decorative registers, featuring schematic carvings. The surface shows patina due to ageing. Liangzhu culture (approx. 3300–2300 BC) or later.
