Description.
Oil on canvas. Impressionist-style river landscape. The scene depicts a riverbank or canal where several pleasure sailboats with their white sails unfurled are gathered. A small group of human figures is also present. The light is diffused, typical of a cloudy or foggy day. The water of the river or lake occupies much of the lower and right planes, reflecting the colors of the trees, sky, and boats in a distorted way. Signed "I. Illuis" in the lower right corner. Signed, titled, and dated "Lakes of Italy I. Illuis 1990" on the reverse of the canvas.
