Description.
A carved agate in shades of brown and translucent black. The piece is notable for its elongated, slightly curved spindle-shaped form. It is notable for its multiple natural bands that run sinuously across the body in shades of white, ochre and grey, forming a beautiful natural decoration. It shows patina due to ageing. Liao Dynasty (916–1125) or later.
