Description.

A large ceramic vase with a lid and a four-footed base in the shape of a ruyi. It has a narrow mouth and an elongated neck that widens at the shoulders to form a rounded body.  It has an intense yellow-orange glaze and relief decorations of motifs depicting the body of a dragon seen from the side, with the head and curled tail on the sides and the four strong legs on the front and back sides. On either side of the neck emerge thin, curled ears from which fine hoops hang. On the concave lid a small mythological beast is shown in relief, with its abdomen reclining and its legs extended. Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1912) 19th century or later.
