Description.

Glazed-porcelain large bowl. On a narrow foot, a large body stretches, with a flared profile and a circular base without a neck, which expands towards the edge slightly bent outwards. The piece is completely covered by an intense lemon-yellow glaze. Five black characters "坤宁宫祭器" appear inscribed on the inside. At the base, arranged in the centre, are six characters "大清宣统年制" alongside old labels from their previous provenance.

The inscription on the inside of the container refers to the Palace of Earthly Tranquillity, also known as Kunning Palace, build on the Ming dynasty Wanli era and rebuilt subsequently during the first era of the Qing dynasty. The ceiling of this building was covered by beautiful yellow glazed tiles, which are reminiscent in their tonality of the bowl described above. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) 19th century.
