Description.
An amulet with a flamed silhouette and serrated edges, moulded from amber-coloured ‘Liulí’ glass (Liulí). The front features a high-relief depiction of Avalokiteshvara enthroned in the Padmasana posture on a lotus-shaped pedestal; he wears a tall ceremonial headdress and holds a flowering lotus stem in his left hand. The piece retains rich polychromy on the robes and attributes, as well as evident signs of patina due to its age. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912) or later.
