Description.
A freestanding sculpture depicting Guanyin, modelled in cobalt-blue Liulí (琉璃) glass. The deity stands upright on an inverted lotus throne. She is dressed in traditional robes with flowing folds and wears an elaborate, tall headdress adorned with pectoral jewellery in the form of braided necklaces. Her right hand is raised in the Vitarka Mudra (dispelling negativity and teaching), whilst her left hand rests on her abdomen, holding a Wheel of Dharma (Dharmachakra). Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD) or later.
