Description.
A circular saucer with a smooth, slightly raised rim. The relief decoration features two dragons facing each other, surrounding a central representation of a coin with inscriptions in English that read “CHEKIANG PROVINCE” and “7 MACE AND 2 CANDAREENS”. The reverse also shows two dragons in relief flanking a coin with Chinese characters referring to the Guangxu period. The background of the saucer is finely stippled, highlighting the detailed engraving work. This type of piece, inspired by Qing dynasty legal tender coins, combines traditional decorative elements with numismatic motifs. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
