Modeled porcelain teapot “Hulu”, 20th century

A glazed porcelain teapot modelled in the shape of a gourd or hulu. The body of the teapot consists of two convex volumes joined at the centre. The handle is carefully sculpted to resemble a gnarled, arched stem. The mouthpiece is short and conical, integrated into the front. The upper part is decorated in relief with tendrils and small leaves. The glaze is dense and glossy, in greenish tones with brownish hues.
