Description.
A fan made of lace and decorated with a delicate array of doilies, floral motifs and openwork garlands that run across the entire surface. The central medallion, signed ‘Y. Frances’, depicts a scene featuring a courtly couple in shades of grey. The ribs are made of openwork mother-of-pearl. The fan is housed in a period semi-circular fan case, with an interior lined in reddish velvet and a wooden frame topped with a carved Louis XVI-style bow.
