Description.
Carved and polished agate, cylindrical with a convex profile and perforated lengthwise. It is multicoloured and makes use of the stone's natural bands, alternating shades of creamy white, dark grey and brown. The decoration is based on the geometric design of the concentric bands. Liao Dynasty (907–1125 AD).
