Description.
Reddish and white Nanhong stone carved in the shape of a smiling child reclining on a crouching qilin. The colour contrast between the veins highlights the figure of the child and the features of the animal. The carving has a hole for use as a pendant. Qing dynasty (1644–1912) or later.
